The McNulty family joins us every year in December for their yearly “getaway”, and last year’s visit produced an amazing photograph taken by the youngest member of the Group.
The picture below was taken by Stephanie McGaw, aged 11 at the time. She entered it in the African Photographic Awards held on the 12th August this year.
There were approximately 100,000 entries from all around the world, and the category Stephanie entered, Primary School Photo, had 3,000 entries.
Well done Steph on your incredible achievement in taking the honors, well deserved, congratulations from all of us at Leopard Hills.
What an amazing photo a young Marius in the making i think!
Congrats Stephanie!
Awesome, Well done Steph.
well done stephanie – great achievement!
Great photo! Someone recently sent me a photo of leopards seeming to be amiably co-exiting with an impala. I thought surely that photo had been doctored. Maybe this is where it came from though! – was the leopard just not hungry at the time?! Carlene
Carlene Hi. No the Leopard was playing with its food, shortly after the picture was taken the Impala was dispatched with, sorry no happy ending in this case, however it was quick.
I was all set to be incredibly thrilled for this young, photographer in the making, then I saw the photo. It (while I know, is nature) is terribly heartbreaking. Well captured photo, but left me with an awful feeling in my stomach & heart.

Thanks Duncan, I figured as much – hey it is the nature of the beast! I hope I can get back there sometime in the next couple of years. It was the best trip of my life!
Stephanie, a heartfelt congratulations from me. To see something like this is rare, and to capture it so well at your age is indeed impressive. The recognition you got for this is very well deserved.
