Farewell to the African Queen
It is with a very heavy heart we pass on the news of the sudden passing of our Head of Housekeeping Mama Esther.
Louise and I have had the huge privilege of knowing Esther from the early 1990’s when we worked together in the early days. We have remained firm friends over all the years and when the opportunity arose for us to work together again, we all jumped at it.
Mama Esther, as she was known to all of us at Leopard Hills, was a beacon of light and laughter, and touched everyone that knew her with her amazing sense of humor and her positive outlook on life. She became a firm favorite with everyone who met her. For our many regular return Guests, Esther was so proud to walk them to their Suites and show them all the upgrades and improvements, she was in her element seeing old friends again.
We will miss her laugh, her smile and the rumbling of her “housekeeping trolley” as she made her way to the suites to add her touch of magic.
We will miss her immensely, but we know Leopard Hills is a much better place, and we are much better people for being touched by the Mama Esther Spirit.
With much sadness,
Duncan and Louise Rodgers and the Leopard Hills Family.
